LOCAL CHARITIES RECEIVE DONATONS FROM AGC AWARD WINNERS

Pierre, SD (April 2, 2015) - The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota, Heavy-Highway-Utilities Chapter (AGC) is proud to announce the local charities that received a $500 donation from the companies that won a 2014 AGC Build South Dakota Award.

Build South Dakota Award

The Build South Dakota Award recognizes particular South Dakota highway-heavy-utilities construction projects completed in the past year. Projects demonstrate excellent management and client service, innovation in construction techniques or materials, community relations and/or sensitivity to the environment. The 2014 winners and chosen charities are:

Category I - (Project between $500,000 – $2-Million)

Mainline Contracting, Inc. – Rapid City, SD

Chosen for their Reconstruction of Spearfish Creek Crossing, West Federal Street Water Main in Spearfish, South Dakota

Charity: $500 – Children Home Society, Rapid City, SD

Category III - (Project greater than $2 Million)

A-G-E Corporation – Ft. Pierre, SD

Chosen for the construction performed on SD Highway 34 Emergency Dam & Highways Repairs East of Howes in Meade & Ziebach Counties.

Charity: $500 – The Stanley County Booster Club

Category III - (Project greater than $2 Million)

First Rate Excavate – Sioux Falls, SD

Chosen for the University of South Dakota Phase 1 North Campus Reconstruction Project in Vermillion, South Dakota.

Charity: $500 – The Children’s Miracle Network

The AGC of South Dakota, Highway-Heavy-Utilities Chapter, is a voluntary trade association of almost 250 contractors, suppliers and service firms who build the roads, bridges and water/wastewater infrastructure in South Dakota.
